Resident Revenue Programs

Turning Passion into Purpose (and Profit)

At Project Farmland, we believe that small farms can do big things. Whether they're growing heirloom tomatoes, raising chickens, making herbal teas, or crafting artisan soaps, our resident farmsteads have the potential to generate meaningful income—and we’re here to help them thrive.

Our Resident Revenue Programs are designed to support farm families as they turn their land, skills, and passions into viable small businesses. With access to shared infrastructure, community support, and expert guidance, they're  never farming alone.

Ways Residents Can Generate Revenue:

Farm-Fresh Produce Sales
Sell their seasonal bounty directly to the community through The Barn marketplace, CSA subscriptions, or U-pick events. Whether they grow fruits, vegetables, herbs, or microgreens, the harvest can feed both their neighbors and their bottom line.

Eggs, Honey, and Specialty Goods
Raise chickens, ducks, or bees and offer fresh eggs, honey, and other farm products. Residents can sell directly through The Barn or at community events.

Value-Added Products
Use farm-grown ingredients to create shelf-stable goods like jams, spice blends, pickles, teas, soaps, and dried herbs. Our community kitchen and freeze dryers make it easier to scale their creations.

Plant Starts & Seeds
Share the beauty of thier garden with others by selling healthy, non-GMO plant starts or heirloom seeds to local gardeners and schools.

Artisan Crafts & Farm-Based Products
Many residents create handcrafted items such as woodworks, sewn goods, pottery, leatherwork, or botanical wellness products. The Barn provides retail space and seasonal markets to showcase their work.

Compost & Soil Amendments
Resident farmers can participate in our on-site vermiculture and biochar programs. Residents can use these regenerative tools on their land—and sell worm castings, compost tea, and biochar products to gardeners and local nurseries.

Online Sales & Workshops
Package their knowledge or creations for online audiences. Host virtual farm tours, homesteading classes, or sell their goods through a dedicated marketplace supported by Project Farmland’s digital outreach.

Agritourism & Events
Some residents may offer seasonal experiences like sunflower walks, pumpkin patches, cut-flower bouquets, or workshops. Opportunities to partner with our events team for group visits or festivals may be available.

School Partnerships
With our deep focus on education, we’ll explore partnerships that allow resident farms to sell produce directly to schools or host student projects and farm tours.

Support That Sets Resident Farmers Up for Success

We’re committed to seeing our resident farmers succeed—not just in growing crops, but in growing a livelihood.

  • Access to shared infrastructure (greenhouse, tools, kitchen equipment)

  • Revenue-generating platforms like The Barn and CSA networks

  • Mentorship opportunities from experienced farmers and professionals

  • Workshops on pricing, marketing, packaging, and business planning

Whether they are supplementing their income or working toward full-time farmstead living, Project Farmland is a place where they can plant your ideas and watch them grow.

When we grow together, we thrive together!
