Life at Project Farmland won't look the same for every family, but it might look something like this:
Your day starts by checking the garden before work. The kids gather eggs before school. Before heading out the door, you stop by the orchard to see how the peaches are coming along.
On the way home, there's no need to stop at the grocery store for groceries. Fresh vegetables came from the garden. Eggs were gathered that morning. Maybe tonight's chicken or beef came from the community barn or a neighbor who had extra to share.
After dinner, the kids head outside to play with friends. Neighbors stop by to visit. Someone needs help in their garden. Someone else is sharing cuttings from their berry patch. A workshop is taking place at the Barn. Another family is preparing for the weekend harvest.
Maybe your parents live next door in a multigenerational home. Maybe your grown children live a short walk away. Maybe you're the one teaching the next generation skills that are becoming increasingly rare.
No two families will live exactly the same way. But life here is designed around participation, relationships, and the simple idea that some of the most meaningful parts of life shouldn't be something we drive across town to find.
